A bit late, but what the heck… Them Crooked Vultures, the band of Queens of the Stone Age-frontman Joss Homme, Foo Fighters-frontman Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin-bassplayer John Paul Jones will be releasing their highly anticipated  debut-album on November 17th.

The band has kept all of their doings behind closed doors. Nothing has leaked onto the internet so far. And that’s a hard task now a days with everything being leaking out.

I for one, can’t wait for the album to be released. I think it’s going to be the album of the year. So I’m keeping my hopes up!

My girlfriend and I are huge fans of the guitar-duo from Mexico “Rodrigo Y Gabriela“. Everytime when they are in Holland (or Belgium) we have seen them perform live. And ofcourse we’ve got all their albums.

Yesterday it was my girlfriends birthday and I visited my Twitter-page to read the new tweets of the ones I follow. Included are (ofcourse) rodrigo Y Gabriela. I saw that Rodrigo placed a tweet just a few seconds ago, so I thought “why not ask him if he could congratulate my girlfriend with her birthday?”. So I did. And within seconds he tweeted “Congratulations Daniëlle” on their Twitterpage. Awsome! Not many stars do that I think.

At first my girlfriend didn’t believe it was really Rodrigo who tweeted that, but after I convinced her that it really was Rodrigo she really was stoked! “Totally awsome!” she said.

So I wanted to thank Rodrigo and Gabriela for their birthday-wishes to my girlfriend!

Today, Microsoft is releasing Windows 7, the follow-up to Windows Vista. What I hear in reviews around the internet is that this finally is a very good Windows. In fact, according to a lot of reviews it’s the best Windows in years!

A couple of months ago I installed the test-version of Windows 7 and I found that this already was a better version of Windows then Vista ever was. So I am looking forward to the final version, which is released today. I am definitely going to get this one.

Wow! I am impressed. I just played through the first part of the Wii-version of “Where The Wild Things Are” and the whole vibe and looks are great. It really is something else!

The game is based on the movie, which is now a smash-hit in USA-cinema’s, which in it’s turn is based on a very popular book-series. I had never heard of the whole thing, and thought the movie would be a childish family-film. But I am guessing that I’m totally wrong. This could be the most beautiful film of the year. The world and characters all have their own unique looks like we have never seen. And the whole world makes you feel like you’re floating on a nice fluffy fairytale-cloud. This is the rare moment when a movie game, which usually are bad, makes me VERY curious about the movie, and which shows that there can be good movie games. But, before jumping to conclusion, I am gonna play the game a whole lot more. Because the game is one big invite to a beautiful fairytale.

For those, like me, who also have never heard of the “Where The Wild Things Are-phenomenon”, here is the trailer:

The 20th of November will be the day on which the stylish black Wii will be released in Europe. This is announced by Nintendo itself, today. However, when you live in the UK or Ireland, then you are lucky. They will get the black Wii on November 6th.

This black beauty will be available in a special pack which includes Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Motion Plus and ofcourse a black WiiMote and Nunchuck. This pack will be released as a limited edition.

For those who want a black WiiMote, Nunchuck or Wii Motion Plus, don’t start crying yet. These will be availing for sale on November 20th (UK & Ireland: November 6th) as well. On this day, also the new Classic Controller Pro will be released. In black and white.

Last week I went to my all-time favourite cinema, The Metropolis, in Antwerp (Belgium), to see the latest Pixar-installment called “UP”. This also was my very first 3D-movie. So I was curious about the use of 3D in movies, without it beïng an annoying gimmick. Would Pixar deliver on this territory?

UP tells the tale of a grumpy old man, named Carl Fredrickson. In his younger years Carl meets a young adventurous girl named Ellie. They both dream of going to a Lost Land in South America. 70 years later, Ellie has died. Carl remembers the promise he made to her. Then, when he inadvertently hits a construction worker, he is forced to go to a retirement home. But before they can take him, Carl ties 10.000 balloons on his house and fly away. However he has a taken along an unexpected visitor. An 8 year-old cub scout  named Russell, who is trying to get his “Helping the Elderly” merit badge. Together, they embark in an adventure, where they encounter talking dogs, an evil villain and a rare bird named Kevin.

Again, Pixar has written the story brilliantly, and there are moment that make you laugh, moments that make you cry and moments that are just jaw dropping. They also haven’t overdone themselves with the 3D. You will not see objects flying out of the screen and toward you. No, Pixar has given the movie much more depth. Literally.   On emotional scenes you will see a small amount of depth, and with spectacular action-scenes there will be a huge amount of depth. Which you have to see, to know what I mean. It definitely works great! And it all is crystal-clear and amazingly colorful.

I just can’t wait to see Toy Story 3 in 3D next year. If the 3D works as beautiful as it did with UP then we all have something to look forward to.
